Regretsy

Regretsy.

If you know of etsy.com you will appreciate this website.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...

Here is a really cool video clip, the only known video of Anne Frank.

It was unearthed and given to her father in the 1950s from his neighbors. The video is very short and shows Anne leaning out the window of her Amsterdam home, watching a bride and groom on their big day. The clip has been kept at the Amsterdam museum, the Anne Frank House , but was released on YouTube in honor of the new Anne Frank Channel, which will feature videos and interviews about her life.

These images were captured only a year before Anne and her family were forced into hiding.

I know what I want for Christmas this year!

How cool is this?

Gordon Stewart, the founder of gScreen, told the website that the first Spacebooks should be available on Amazon by December this year, once final modifications are complete. -telegraphUK

Awww Tias blogged about me on Z104.com...

Check it out here

Also, I have been holding off talking about the TOMs shoes I bought until I had a chance to try them out.

Well I did, and I love them. I have very narrow feet, so they are very loose comfy shoes. The Vegan boot is going to take some getting used to, not the easiest shoe to get on, but they are cute and comfy too.

So if you need a pair of comfy shoes and are all about great causes get yourself a pair, Here. For every pair you buy, some one that needs a pair of shoes will get a pair too. They also give away a pair of shoes to someone in need if you buy a tshirt. Tias wasn't crazy about the look of Toms shoes but loves the cause, so he went with the tshirt. (pics to come later)

*updated*Man is missing in my neighborhood.*updated*

I have been seeing a lot of helicopter activity over the state park (First Landing) and the trails that I run/walk on everyday. Today, they were handing out fliers as you entered the trails. I hope they find him soon but I have a bad feeling about this whole thing.

Here is the story from WVEC.com:

VIRGINIA BEACH - A Navy man on leave is missing.

Chief Petty Officer Gerard Curran didn't report back to work at Naval Station Norfolk Thursday.

His wife reported him missing on Thursday as well.

Curran, 45, last had contact with his family around 7:00 p.m. on July 28.

His vehicle was found at First Landing Park near the trail center, police say.

His family says he's an avid runner and they worry he may have experienced problems running in the heat.

Curran works for Naval Telecommunication and Computer Area Master Station Atlantic.

He's white, 5'10" tall, weighs 185 pounds, has thinning brown hair and green eyes. He may have been wearing khaki shorts and white running shoes.

If you've seen anyone matching that description in the park area, call the Virginia Beach Police Department at 757-385-5000 or 757-385-4101.

UPDATE: His body was found in the park. The VAB Police are treating as a suicide until the coroner is finished with his investigation. So sad. :(

Schuster Compound* 1Thing Video Blog

What is your 1Thing? Please click on the picture below to learn more:

*You will notice that in the video blog that the family estate is called the 'Schuster Ranch' (Tias edited this video). I maintain that it is not a ranch; there are no cattle, there is no barn, and there are no pastures. I prefer the term 'compound' because; there is a pool, a main house, guest
cottages, chicken coop, tennis court, Koi ponds, vegetable garden, etc.... and most importantly it is highly secure. But that is not the point of this blog now is it....

Michael Jackson, Brian Boitano, etc...

Remember back in the 80s when Michael Jackson was filming a Pepsi commercial and the pyro caught his hair on fire? Well, the video has been released and US weekly and Perez posted it on their websites. It is amazing and at the same time horrifying to watch, you see Michael descend the steps and do his signature spin with his head on fire.

The Food Network announced a new daytime cooking show, What Would Brian Boitano Make?

Ummmm... I don't know. Shaved Ice???

Excuse me....

I need to brag about my one of my brothers-in-law for a second...

(Photo Michael in action in Orlando)

Micheal is Tias's younger brother. He does amazing things with hair, it is a gift and if I had my choice no one else would ever do my hair ever again. From color to cut to treatments, he does it all!

Lately, Michael has been traveling around doing hair shows around the country. Hair shows are big conventions where stylists learn about new products, styles, etc from different vendors and industry pros like Michael. I have not seen him in action yet but from what I have heard he is very comfortable with a mic and an audience. What I do know is it is fun to watch him do hair, he has a swagger about him even if it is just him and your head in the room. :) I am very proud of all he has accomplished so far and can't wait to see where it takes him in the future!

Here are a few photos of Michael onstage for Keratin Complex at the Orlando Premiere Show 2009:

If you are in Charleston, SC area and need to have your hair done look him up, Michael Schuster!

In the world of 'WHAT?'...

I saw this on the Z104 blog:

Bagel Heading? Some people will do anything for attention.

Check out the alleged new fad in Japan!

I *heart* Toms!

Okay, maybe I should say, "I *heart* the concept of Toms!".

"For every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about."- from the Tom's website

They are not the cutest shoes, I'm not convinced they will be very comfortable either, but this is a cause that I can get behind. The shoes seem a bit pricey for what they are but when you consider you are actually buying two pairs the price does not seem as bad.

I am ordering a pair for myself and a pair for Tias. Stand by for the verdict on the shoes.

xoxo
